Lesson 5 - The effects of the Fall in our lives

Original Sin

A.

The original "image of God" in which humanity was created was lost at the fall into sin

Death

A.

Three ways "death" is used in the Bible

1.

Physical death - the end of life in this world.

2.

Spiritual death - the state into which we are born; being separated from God, and unable to turn to Him on our own.

3.

Eternal death - eternal destiny of those who die physically

while in a state of being separate from God in spiritual death
(2)

This is eternity in hell.

The penalty for Sin is Death

This spiritual death begins immediately at the Fall ( Genesis 2:17)

Eve as Christians we must deal with our old sinful natures and remain subject to physical death.
